Wonder {5 Minute Friday}
One of my favorite parts of the holidays are the Christmas movies. The movies that make me feel like a kid again. The movies that remind me that it’s okay to believe. The movies I will share with my kids for years to come and continue to watch them fill up with excitement.
I’ve always felt the anticipation of Christmas morning as if something amazing would happen. I still do.
I eat up Christmas movies and music as though they are nourishment for the soul. I love to search for, purchase, and wrap Christmas gifts. I love to spend time with my family around the holidays. I love that my kids know we are actually ‘Santa’ yet still have a little bit of curiosity.
Heck, I’m still curious! For all I know there really could be a fat man in a big red suit that flies around the world all in one night. Wouldn’t that just be amazing?
There are many things that we don’t know about this world.
I wonder…
- What if we chose to create an atmosphere of cheer and giving all year round rather than only near the holiday season?
- What if we believed in Him in the same way?
- What if we believed with the mind of a child, with faith unwavering, with both an open mind and open heart?
- What if we anticipated that something amazing would happen every single day?
- What if we believed that He really is that man traveling the globe blessing the world with His gifts?
Could it be? Could He really be this man in the red suit? I like to believe so.
He does see all. He does provide for all of the little children of the world. He does watch for the good and the bad. He does give us gifts.
Except He does it consistently, not just one time per year. He’s there for you always.
Hmmm…are those jingle bells I hear from heaven?!? <—– Tweet this

Linking up for 5 Minute Friday. Writing unedited, unaltered, unplanned for 5 minutes.

Jingle Bells from Heaven – what a fun thought! Anticipating the miraculous every single day? That sounds like my kind of wonder.
Me too. It makes every day worth living to anticipate that miraculous moment!
I also love all the Christmas movies and specials. I still get giddy every year when I see the Grinch is coming on. He’s my favorite!
