Resolutions to a Better You {Giveaway}

I’m excited to bring you an amazing opportunity to win.  I’m not sure if you follow me on Facebook or not but back in October I actually won a $500 American  Express gift card through a blog.  I’m proof that it does happen!!!   You can see more about that here & here!

I was so excited.  I almost didn’t enter because the number was already over 10,000.  Out of 16,619 entries…I won!   I was floored.  I was number 10,577.  You can see my name on the rafflecopter here.  It does happen.  What’s even more amazing is that I was the fourth on the list.  There were only two cards.

What does that mean?  It means someone didn’t claim their prize.  What a huge blessing it was to me at a time when I really, really needed it.  I’d love to tell you I spent it on clothing or shoes but the reality is I used it to pay off a few bills.  And let me tell you, it felt great!!

So, now if your chance.  Enter below!!  Would you choose the iPad or the money?  If you choose the money, what would you spend it on?

It’s here!  Enter to win an iPad.  Is the iPad not for you?  Already have one?

Choose the option for $500 Paypal cash.

Beginning {Into the Word Wednesday}

DSC_0011-001

So, it’s 2013.  Wow!!  Where did 2012 go?

I can’t believe it’s been an entire year.

Is it just me or does it seem like once you have kids that time goes at warp speed?

I’m not much on resolutions.  I do, however, try to make changes periodically.  I try to look at what didn’t work last year and make a change to make the new year better.

The past few months, I’ve been thinking about how we were created.

My current 2012 calendar actually continues through the end of January.  I keep looking at my new calendar.  It’s beautiful.  I see endless possibility.

If He can create life and the start of what we are living today in only 7 days, what can I do with the next 363 days?  Of course it won’t live up to what He did.  It probably won’t live up to most of what is seen on Pinterest these days.

For me, it will be amazing.  It will be better than last year.  I’ll be focused, determined, and passionate this year.  I’ll be more intentional about how I spend my time and who I spend it with.  I’ll keep my faith and family first.

What are you doing with your beginning?

12 Days of Christmas {Day 12 : Christmas Meaning}

day 12

What does Christmas mean to me?

It’s tough.  Of course it means the birth of our Lord.  It means celebrating His birthday.

In addition to this, it means a time of slowing down.  Taking a break from the hustle and bustle of life.  Easing up on the stress that bogs us down on a daily basis.

It’s spending time with family.  It’s remembering the meaning of this life.

Remembering that it’s not the bills, the house, the job, or even the stuff.  It’s the lives that we can affect, the kids that we raise, and the parents we make proud.

It’s the celebrating, the time spent together, and the memories we make.

It’s remembering that the gifts under the tree are objects to show our affection to those we love.  Remembering it’s not to replace time we spend with them.

I want my kids to remember the amazing times we spend rather than the gifts they were given.

That’s what I remember.

I can hardly remember a single gift from growing up but I remember the Christmas Eve nights spent with one set of grandparents.  Christmas morning spent with the other set.

How do you feel about Christmas?  What will your kids remember?

12 Days of Christmas {Day 10: Christmas Future}

day 10

One of the traditions I’ve already started planning on for next year is a jar of activities.

I enjoy celebrating the birth of our Lord.

I love shopping, wrapping, baking, cooking, spoiling, and celebrating.

I also love experiences.  In addition to all of this I love the experiences.

The look on their little faces when we put up the Christmas tree.  The sparkle in their eyes when we saw the Disney Castle all lit up last year.  It’s all about the memories for me.

Even when they were babies and most likely unable to recall the details, I will always remember.

I plan on creating a celebration jar shortly after the new year.  I want to do it now so the experiences are fresh in my mind.  We’ll countdown starting the day after Thanksgiving with an activity per day.  Some will be done at home, some will be out on the town, and others will include family members.

I’m excited for this.  The memories we will have.  When I’m older and they are grown we will remember the fun times we had together.

What tradition will you start next year?

Grab a button and come tell us all about it!!

Modern Greetings Second Honeymoon Contest {2}

I’m here today to inform you of a unique opportunity to win something special from Modern Greetings!  I reviewed their site a few months ago.  You can read about that here if you’d like.

I’m not here to talk about that today though.  As you know I co-host a link up each week called Matrimonial Monday.   When I heard about this contest I thought it would fit right in with what we talk about around here.

Think back to your honeymoon.   How wonderful was it?  Now, close your eyes and think about how you’d feel if you had another chance at that honeymoon.

Maybe you’ve never gone away without the kids.  Maybe you didn’t take the honeymoon of your dreams the first time around.

Take a moment to enter to win an amazing second honeymoon from Modern Greetings!
