Faves from Week 1 {Living Proverbs 31}

How much do you guys love the name change? I hope you’ll continue to link up and link up even more than you did before!

Last week over at One Part Joy, One Part Circus, AJ shared about intimacy.  This is actually part 3 in a series called Understanding Intimacy in Marriage.

She brought me in.  So much that I desperately wanted to read the first two parts!

I could not help but read this section a few times before moving on.  It is filled with truth and wisdom.

True intimacy in marriage is slow and steady.  It is what comes after you no longer feel that crazy love.  Healthy intimacy in marriage is based on commitment and mutual love, that is played out less through feelings and more through action.   It’s that moment when you look across a table at your husband and you still feel love for him, but you can’t help but notice the stain on his shirt.  It’s where you start to pursue one another NOT because you are so desperately IN LOVE, but because the other person is valuable, and genuinely important to you.

Another great, insightful post comes from Amy over at The Wall of God’s Truth.

Her post entitled Be Steadfast Where You Are really spoke to me last week.  I am in a season of in between.  We are going from big change and headed toward a new change.  We are just in between while my husband finishes school.

She hit the nail on the head for me with this…

Sometimes in life we might find ourselves in a season that is frustrating or challenging. It doesn’t seem that it is serving the goals we had in mind. We start to want to move on. It’s too tiring, it’s too much, we’re bored.

Yep, I’m there.  I’m ready for this season to be complete yet it won’t be for a few more months.  I think the fact that it’s summer and that I’m feeling burnt out isn’t helping.

Check out the ‘meat’ of her post.  I can’t do it justice trying to paraphrase it!

Thanks once again for linking up.  We do this for you guys!

We love having a community where we can share what’s on our hearts week in and week out.

Faith In Him {Into the Word Wednesday}

It’s been a long few weeks here.  Has it been where you are?

Once again I have to apologize.  This is the second week in a row that I thought Wednesday was Tuesday.  For some reason even after looking at the calendar I’m not quite able to figure out the actual day.

So this is late.  It’s late and there is nothing I can do about it.

I feel as though I’m working myself to the bone but not gaining any ground.  Have you ever felt this way?   It’s time to step back, reevaluate, and then regroup.

The verse I’m drawn to right now is Matthew 6:26.

‘Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not of more value than they?

Yep.  The bible is right.  He does provide.  It’s all around us.  He takes care of his children just as we take care of ours.  I had been taking all of the craziness upon my shoulders.  Feeling like I was all alone when in fact I’m not.

He knows all.  He can see how hard I’ve been working although for some reason I have felt like I need to prove it.  Maybe I’m proving it to myself.  Maybe I’m trying to provide my husband with the peace of mind that we’ll be okay.  That he can take the time to follow his dream.

I think forgetting the same day twice in two weeks is enough to say it’s time to slow it down a bit!!  So, since Wednesday doesn’t seem to exist for me right now, I have a new plan.

I’ll be taking it slower.  I’ll be not pressuring myself to be so perfect in everything.  It’s okay if I don’t get to the laundry. It’s okay if I don’t get to a blog post.  It’s okay if I choose to stay in my pajamas on the one day a week I don’t have to work.

I know that I am not alone in this no matter how I might feel inside.  I just need a reminder!

Let’s all remember that He knows your hearts, your mission, your dreams, and He will provide.  (<— Tweet it)

God is great!!! {Into the Word Wednesday}

If you are reading this you might already know that God is great.  I wanted to share some reasons why today.

I talked a little about what’s going on in my life here and here.  What I’m ready to mention now is how God’s plan is coming together.  It’s amazing.  I knew He was here.  Meanwhile, I didn’t just sit around waiting for a miracle.  I networked and contacted anyone I knew to find some work which is way out of my comfort zone!

I talked some about one of my biggest dreams in this post.  I am starting to think there might be light at the end of that tunnel.

In the past week I reached out to an old friend that coordinates elder care and cleanings.  She had an immediate urgent need for a home organizer for a client.  I also received a referral for overnight newborn care from a prior client of mine.  I’ve started both of these jobs already!

Several months ago I mentioned casually to our family photographer how much I’d love to help her out sometime if she ever needs it.  She already knew how much I’m into photography. We only see her a few times a year for family photos so I can actually be in the pictures.  I’m happy to report I have an official sit-down with her next week to see how I can help her business grow.  Ummm…am I excited about His plan?  You bet!

He was already working through people I knew.  I had to stepped out of my comfort zone to talk with these people but the seeds were already there.

I have been actively casting my cares upon Him over the past few months standing in His truth from this verse.  It has already paid off in a huge way.

How has God shown up in your life lately?  I’d love to hear your story!
