R = Relax {All About Me}

I chose the word relax because it is almost like a foreign language to me.

I haven’t quite grasped the idea.  I mean, I understand the definition of the word.  I just can’t seem to turn off the to-do list that is in my head.  This could be one thing that I will never master.

If you could sit down with my husband and ask him, he’d tell you that I’ve lightened up a little but I still have a hard time relaxing when I know there is so much to be done.

Here are a few things I do try to do during moments that I can turn my brain off.

1.  Snuggle : I enjoy snuggling with my babies.  Reading to them, playing with them, or teaching them several of the next few of my favorites.

3.  Photograph : I love to head out just for the purpose of taking pictures.  I enjoy walking around and finding something beautiful to capture.

2.  Read :  I love to read.  It’s relaxing plus I almost always either learn something or am entertained.

3.  Bake :  My grandma started teaching me how to bake probably when I was three or four years old.  We would make cookies or pies on a weekly basis.

4.  Play : I love to play Words With Friends.  This is another love that came from my grandma.  We would play scrabble every single time I visited.  She was so smart yet somehow I would win more often than not.

5.  Exercise : This will sound crazy but I love to work out.  I don’t always have the motivation to get it done but once I’m dressed and ready I’m good!  I’m getting ready to start Insanity for the second time after losing a bit of weight (almost 35lbs. now).

These are all things I’ll be working on this year.  I need more me time in my life.

Let’s be honest here.  I am a much better wife and mom when I’ve had a little bit of alone relaxation time.

What do you like to do to relax?

Q = Quip {All About Me}

So, what can I say.

I come from a sarcastic, witty, funny, and fun-loving family.

Between N & I, most of our comebacks are movie or television show quotes. We’re rather sarcastic, oh, say 85% of the time.  It’s part of the reason I fell in love with him.  He makes me laugh in a way that no one else does.  He knows just what to say at the right time to make me laugh.  It’s amazing.

Of course, I can bring it right back to him.  We could probably have an entire conversation using only quotes from our favorite movies and shows.

A few of my favorites from a certain show:

  • ‘Look at me, I’m Chandler. Could I be wearing any more clothes?’
  • ‘Hey, just so you know, it’s not that common, it doesn’t happen to every guy, and it is a big deal!’
  • ‘I think that I can safely say that we all have family issues, work stuff, and/or are sick.’
  • ‘No, no, no.  This isn’t out of the blue.  This is smack dab in the middle of the blue.’
  • ‘Whoa. Where are you going in those pants? 1982?’

Check this out if you are a Friends fan!  Some of the funniest parts!

Please tell me I’m not the only one!   What is your favorite quote (doesn’t have to be from Friends)?  If it is from Friends I’ll give you 100 extra points, though!

P = Photography {All About Me}

I’m not sure I need a post about this one!

I’m in love with photography.

It all started in high school when I took a class at the college I was attending.  I know that sounds weird but I took courses at a college for high school credit in high school.  It wasn’t digital photography but I still fell in love.

Then once the first little one came along, I fell in love once again.  First, with my sweet bundle then once again with those memories that are captured in a photograph.

I have a wonderfully, beautiful friend that is helping me tweak and learn some things so I can start my own studio.  I’ve been pretty much ready but need to just jump in.

Yes, I know, just do it.  I’ve been told by many!!  It’s a bit nerve-wracking to just jump right into a new business.

Well.  It’s happening.

I have the name all picked out.  A few final details and it will be official.  I won’t be able to quit my day job right now while my husband finishes school but at least it will be in place.  We’ll start out slow and go from there.

I don’t post pictures of my kids faces or pictures of my clients on the blog.  Those of course are my favorites but I’m just not willing to post them here.  Trust me when I tell you that I have the cutest kids you’ve ever seen!

I’ll leave you with a few faves!  You can also click on the picture to read the original post.

O = Organized {All About Me}

I love to be organized.

I prefer everything to be in its place.  It only makes sense, right?  Some of my favorite things to shop for are items that will help me keep my life organized.

Oh, and don’t even get me started on the amazing things I see on Pinterest on an almost daily basis.  It’s inspiring for sure.

See, I said I love to be organized.  I didn’t say I am always organized.  Every so often I find that there is a new way, a better way, or an easier way to keep things.

My favorite store for many of these items?  The Container Store!

Here are a few of my favorite items.

These are on our bathroom sink to hide most of the toiletries we use.  Some of course are out because I use them more than once a day!

Laundry closet.  Cute bins that make me smile and contain the laundry/cleaning supplies.

The fun cubbies in the living room that we use to hide the toys, toys, and more toys.  I talked about this back on the G post too! Can you tell I love these?!?

N = Negative {All About Me}

With the fourth pregnancy we had to make a tough decision.  Neither of us could handle the thought of losing another baby.  My doctor also didn’t feel I would make it through another pregnancy.

After many long talks, we made decided.

I feel sad knowing that I’ll never again see that positive pink line on a pregnancy test.  I hurt knowing I have two babies in heaven (possibly three).

There have been a few times I’ve honestly felt as though I might be pregnant.  More than a week late with all of the symptoms I’ve had in the past has fooled me more than once over the past few years.

Sometimes I forget about that necessary surgery during the c-section this last time.  Then come the thoughts of looking into reversing it.

Then I remember.

I have two amazing little ones here on this earth.  I love them more than anything.  Even though I still dream of baby number three to happen, I love them too much to risk my life to make my dream come true.
