Feature of the Week {Into the Word Wednesday}

Have you ever been wronged?

If you have this one is for you.

Denise from Refine Me has talked about just this in a post I will be bookmarking.

Her words below should be on a bookmark or picture that we can keep in front of us at all times.

‘Unconditional love is a new decision we need to make in every situation; and He has promised to give us the power we need when we do not have the strength to offer love.’

You must hop over and read the rest of her post about loving those that have wronged us.  There are times when that person is someone in our circle.  Meaning it’s someone that we may see often like a coworker, family member, or it could be your spouse.

Denise has written an amazing reminder of how Jesus would act in a situation like this.

Check it out!  Leave her some comment love too.

Faith In Him {Into the Word Wednesday}

It’s been a long few weeks here.  Has it been where you are?

Once again I have to apologize.  This is the second week in a row that I thought Wednesday was Tuesday.  For some reason even after looking at the calendar I’m not quite able to figure out the actual day.

So this is late.  It’s late and there is nothing I can do about it.

I feel as though I’m working myself to the bone but not gaining any ground.  Have you ever felt this way?   It’s time to step back, reevaluate, and then regroup.

The verse I’m drawn to right now is Matthew 6:26.

‘Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not of more value than they?

Yep.  The bible is right.  He does provide.  It’s all around us.  He takes care of his children just as we take care of ours.  I had been taking all of the craziness upon my shoulders.  Feeling like I was all alone when in fact I’m not.

He knows all.  He can see how hard I’ve been working although for some reason I have felt like I need to prove it.  Maybe I’m proving it to myself.  Maybe I’m trying to provide my husband with the peace of mind that we’ll be okay.  That he can take the time to follow his dream.

I think forgetting the same day twice in two weeks is enough to say it’s time to slow it down a bit!!  So, since Wednesday doesn’t seem to exist for me right now, I have a new plan.

I’ll be taking it slower.  I’ll be not pressuring myself to be so perfect in everything.  It’s okay if I don’t get to the laundry. It’s okay if I don’t get to a blog post.  It’s okay if I choose to stay in my pajamas on the one day a week I don’t have to work.

I know that I am not alone in this no matter how I might feel inside.  I just need a reminder!

Let’s all remember that He knows your hearts, your mission, your dreams, and He will provide.  (<— Tweet it)

The Truth Comes Out {Into the Word Wednesday}

So, here it is. Now you know.

I. Am. Not. Perfect.

Wow! It feels so great that this is all finally out in the open.

I have been so busy lately that I can’t even keep my days straight.   Here it is almost midnight on Wednesday and I’m just now writing my post for today.

I thought today was Tuesday!

What did I learn from this?

The first thing I realized is that I’m stretched too thin right now.  There are too many things on my plate and something needs to go.

I also learned that nothing crazy happened because I missed a deadline for a post.   I didn’t disappoint anyone by not being perfect. I didn’t get a nasty email from my co-hosts asking where my post was for today.  I didn’t get any nasty comments from fans who were disappointed.

Here is the shocker…I didn’t even disappoint myself.  For one of the first times, I was okay with making a mistake.

I must remember that we are made in His image.  We are not perfect as He is.

So, here I am, admitting that I am not perfect.  This is actually good because I never want to portray something that I am not.

If I ever gave you this impression I am sorry!

So today, let’s remember.

It’s okay to stumble.  It’s okay to take a break.  It’s okay to be imperfect.

Tips for Training Up Our Little Ones {Into the Word Wednesday}

Are you a mom?

If so, you know that there are times when mommyhood isn’t perfect.  As we wade through childhood with them, we learn how to be a parent.

I’m not sure about you but I don’t have all the answers.

There are still times when I need a little advice.  A little reminder.

Here are five of my favorite go-to verses covering sharing, speaking cheerfully, being kind, obeying, and telling the truth.

Hebrews 13:16  And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

Philippians 2:14  Do everything without complaining or arguing.

Ephesians 4:32a  Be kind and compassionate to one another.

Colossians 3:20  Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.

Leviticus 19:11  Do not steal.  Do not lie.  Do not deceive one another.

As you navigate your way through parenting today, I hope this helps!

Devoted {Into the Word Wednesday}

A few weeks ago I came home to find these on my porch.

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

It was a special occasion and finding these waiting for me was completely unexpected.

Of course I started to wonder.  Where did they come from?   Who could have dropped them off?

Then I had an inkling.

Sure enough.  I opened the card and it was from one of the sweetest women I know.

I was reminded of the verse Romans 12:10.

“Be devoted to one another in love.  Honor one another above yourselves.”

Here are the top 5 reasons I love my dear friend.

  1. She is one of the sweetest, most genuine people I’ve ever met.
  2. I know that no matter what she’d be there if I needed her.
  3. No matter how long it’s been since I’ve seen her, it’s as if we’d never been apart.
  4. Whenever I hear from her, I can feel my heart smile.
  5. She makes me want to be a better person.

This is what true friendship is.  I only wish it didn’t take me this long to find it!

She and I are the epitome of this verse.  We are truly devoted to one another through thick and through thin.

Do you have a friendship like this?

If not, keep looking!  They are out there.
