MailPix {product review}

If you read this post you know I am all about anything related to photography. I was thrilled to have the chance to review their website and bring you an amazing opportunity.

Mailpix is a new company providing a variety of photo gifts and products.  Let me tell you about something that caught my eye.  Now, I don’t post too many pictures to Facebook and I don’t yet use Instagram.  However, Mailpix has it set up that if you log into their site using either of those websites, your photos will automatically sync.

I immediately thought of quite a few people that would enjoy that!  It has to be so much easier than uploading to Facebook to show them off to friends and family, then also uploading to another site to order pics.

Do you have a cute picture you’re using for holiday cards this year?  Check this out!   <—— Tweet this

I created a photo book for a dear friend.  It was a very simple process.  I found it quick and easy to upload my photos.   My order was placed and within a few short days my book had arrived.  Shipping wasn’t too expensive either. Sometimes high shipping costs can be a serious deal breaker.

Mailpix has so much more than just photo books.  They also have prints, holiday cards, calendars, ornaments, and more.  Hmmm…so maybe I have too many things in my cart to order!  The gift ideas are endless.

Here’s a peak at a few fun gifts I saw that were intriguing.  Click on any of the pictures should you see something you can’t live without.  Perhaps a gift idea you hadn’t thought about until now.

A super cute gift idea for a little one that loves puzzles.

A glass cutting board with a picture of the family.  I know, I have never seen this before either.  Pretty cool gift idea for the cook who has everything!

Now for the fun part.  I got to scour through the entire Mailpix site to find what I wanted to give away to a blessed fan.

I chose….

an 8×10 canvas.

Now before you scroll down to the rafflecopter to enter.  Take a look at a few deals that are going on right now.  Maybe you can win a canvas but also order a few holiday gifts at a great discount…um…well free (pay shipping only). These deals end 12/31/12.

  • Promo code: 10FREECARDS  to order 10 free 4×8 holiday cards

P = Photography {All About Me}

I’m not sure I need a post about this one!

I’m in love with photography.

It all started in high school when I took a class at the college I was attending.  I know that sounds weird but I took courses at a college for high school credit in high school.  It wasn’t digital photography but I still fell in love.

Then once the first little one came along, I fell in love once again.  First, with my sweet bundle then once again with those memories that are captured in a photograph.

I have a wonderfully, beautiful friend that is helping me tweak and learn some things so I can start my own studio.  I’ve been pretty much ready but need to just jump in.

Yes, I know, just do it.  I’ve been told by many!!  It’s a bit nerve-wracking to just jump right into a new business.

Well.  It’s happening.

I have the name all picked out.  A few final details and it will be official.  I won’t be able to quit my day job right now while my husband finishes school but at least it will be in place.  We’ll start out slow and go from there.

I don’t post pictures of my kids faces or pictures of my clients on the blog.  Those of course are my favorites but I’m just not willing to post them here.  Trust me when I tell you that I have the cutest kids you’ve ever seen!

I’ll leave you with a few faves!  You can also click on the picture to read the original post.

The Broken Road.

This is one of about 60 photos I took as I was utilizing different settings on my camera. I know at least one of my readers will know where this photo was taken!

A nearby county is in the midst of renovating and fixing up a property to create a public park.  I actually hope they don’t fix this path.  I really like it just the way it is.

Anyone else a Rascal Flatts fan?  It immediately made me think of one of their songs.

Any guesses?!?

Here are the lyrics. Such a great song!!

I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn’t see how every sign pointed straight to you

[Chorus:]
Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like Northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

I think about the years I spent just passing through
I’d like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You’ve been there you understand
It’s all part of a grander plan that is coming true

[Chorus]

Now I’m just rolling home
Into my lover’s arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you.

The Light. {Into the Word Wednesday}

It’s getting colder, daylight is getting shorter, and daylight savings is just around the corner.

Fall is my favorite season for the amazing colors, cooler weather, and of course the opportunity to wear amazing boots!

I also love the first day of spring where the sunlight warms your face as you walk outside.

It reminded me of this verse:

Isn’t this the absolute truth?!  He turns our darkness into light.  He guides us and loves us throughout our lives.  Even those times when we are living in darkness without Him.

One of my favorite things about knowing Him is knowing that He will always be there.  Yep, even after I’ve sinned.  Even after I’ve strayed.  Even after I’ve lost my way.

No matter what season I’m in or where I am in my walk with Him, He is there.

I love that I don’t have to navigate this life alone.  I don’t have to do everything with my own power.  I can lean on Him, trust Him, and cast my cares upon Him.

Have you allowed Him to shine his light on you today?

Close your eyes and feel the warmth.  To me it feels like that first warm day of spring.  Bask in the light today!  He is there for you no matter where you are in your relationship with Him!!

Miscarriage + Jesus = Joy {Into the Word Wednesday}

I know. You may be here because of the title of this post.  If you have already read this post, you know that I have been through at least two miscarriages.  It is the most excruciating emotional pain I’ve ever been through.

What could this possibly mean?  How could Miscarriage + Jesus = Joy?

Trust me. I have been where you are right now.  Are you wondering how I got to this point in my grief?

I want to share more details about my sweet babies but I’ll save that for another day.

I will tell you this. I’ll never get over it but I am at peace knowing that my sweet babies are with Jesus.  My heart leaps with joy knowing that they are being cared for in heaven.

Once I read Jeremiah 1:5 and Luke 18:16, I was still hurting of course, but I learned my angel babies would be okay.

Jeremiah 1:5

‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart;I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.’

Luke 18:16

But Jesus called the children to him and said ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

I love knowing that one day I’ll meet them!!  I love knowing that they are in heaven surrounded by love.

If you have been through a miscarriage, please know that Jesus is taking care of your babies. Who knows maybe they are all up in heaven playing together!  Therefore, even though a miscarriage is painful, I have joy in my heart knowing they are with Jesus!
